Five injured after car ploughs into front of busy pub

Five people have been injured after a car ploughed into the front of a packed pub in Kent.

Emergency services were called to the Cinque Ports Arms in the High Street at around 9.50pm last night (Friday, November 24).

Pictures taken after the incident show a silver Vauxhall Corsa wedged part way through the front wall of the pub at the front door.

It is understood the driver of the car was among those injured.

A statement released by South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “Four male patients have been taken to hospital following the incident at the Cinque Ports Arms in New Romney High Street.

“One patient in a serious condition. The other three with non-life threatening injuries including fractures.”

Unfortunately this is not the first incident where a car has struck the pub, with extensive work having to be carried out after another incident where a car damaged the front wall at the start of 2016.
