A man has been dashed to hospital after a suspected homophobic attack with a machete today.
Police rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the incident in Surrey Quays Road at around 3.15pm on Tuesday (July 23).
When officers arrived they discovered a man suffering from knife wounds to his leg, inflicted during the shocking attack which took place in a busy area in broad daylight.
The victim was allegedly attacked with a machete.
A spokesperson for the Met said: “[The victim] was taken by [London Ambulance Service] to a South London hospital.
“The suspect is believed to have left the scene on a motorbike.
“A crime scene is in place. No arrests.
“At this time police believe there may be a homophobic motive for the attack.”
