Dramatic picture reveals lawmaker comforting congresswoman throughout DC riots – Thebritishjournal

A Colorado congressman went into full protective mode when he was caught in a dramatic photo comforting another House member as a mob of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol Wednesday.

The moving image shows Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colorado) crouching down in the House chamber and can be seen holding Pennsylvania Congresswoman Rep. Susan Wild’s hand, trying to comfort her during the riots.

Wild, who can be seen laying down on the House floor in the photo, later said she was safe.

“I am safe and ok,” she tweeted. “I have been moved with other members out of the Capitol under police guard.”

Crow, a former Army ranger, said he rushed to help his colleagues while they were trapped in the House chamber for about 20 minutes.

“I got into ranger mode a little bit,” the Army veteran told The Denver Post.

“Most of the members didn’t know how to use the emergency masks, so I was helping them get their emergency masks out of the bags and helped instruct a bunch of folks on how to put it on and how to use it. I wasn’t going to leave the House floor until every member was gone, so I waited until we were able to get everybody out.”
