New video exhibits Capitol protesters coordinating ‘to take this constructing’ – Thebritishjournal

Newly released video shows rioters inside the US Capitol plotting how to “take this building.”

The footage shows more than a dozen protesters inside a ransacked outer office at the Capitol building during last week’s siege — as they coordinate how to get further into the heart of the historic government center.

“What’s the floor plan?” one man is heard asking, according to the footage posted online by photojournalist Jeremy Lee Quinn, editor of publicreport.org, on Wednesday.

“We need enough people,” another man said. “We need to push forward.”

A woman with a megaphone is then seen standing outside a broken window, with hundreds of President Trump supporters seen gathered outside the building behind her.

“Hey guys, I’ve been in the other room,” she tells rioters in the room. “Listen to me. In the other room on the other side of this door, right where you’re standing. There is a glass door that if somebody, if it’s broken you can drop down into a room underneath it.”

“There also two doors in the other room. One in the rear and one right when you go in.”

“So, we should probably coordinate together if we’re going to take this building,” she is heard saying. “People. We need people.”

The footage provides a new look at the siege of the Capitol building on Jan. 6 that left five people dead, including a police officer.

The assault on the building, which followed a speech by Trump near the White House, sparked widespread outrage and prompted impeachment proceedings against the president that were underway Wednesday.

Quinn did not immediately respond to an email for comment on his video.

“This is the clip that’s been ripped from my livestream,” he wrote on Twitter. “I’m ripping it back. It was a kind of autonomous organizing in that it wasn’t well organized.”

“It felt improvised & chaotic more than anything,” he wrote. “No indication these people knew each other but were coordinating in the moment.”
