First seen at the mini-presentation held at COMME des GARÇONS‘ Tokyo headquarters, the Japanese company has now released official imagery of its HOMME PLUS line’s collaborative Nike Air Carnivore sneakers. Resplendent in reflective paneling, the two colorways feature understated branding and tonal shades for a relatively understated look.
The mid-top silhouette debuted in 1993 with two striking colorways and popped up sporadically as a reissue (including the classic black/purple/green colorway’s return in 2010) and as 2015’s Nike Free. COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS’ revisions retain much of the silhouette’s signature detailing, including a neoprene shaft, adjustable strap and sculpted, grippy outsole.
Most obviously, the tall cross training shoe takes on a tonal black or white shade, complete with reflective panels on the mid, shaft and Nike-branded strap. Contrasting COMME des GARÇONS branding is embroidered on the heel and the insole to reinforce the collaborative nature.
